Website for bad driving

I am sad that there are not websites for bad driving or one where you can, for example, co-operate with the Metro Police. That way, for example, when an old white Mercedes Benz 230E with the registration NKX412 GP, and a big dent in the left-hand side of the door, no doubt from bad driving, squeezes past you in the traffic and then cuts in front of two other cars like a cowboy, you would be able to report it. With cameras on cell phones, one would be able to video people driving through stop streets and send it in to the website or the Traffic Department and let those people get fines. The reality is that we live in a country with a terrible death toll on our roads, we have cars that are in a very poor condition, badly serviced and often in an unroadworthy state, and then on top of that they are being driven by aggressive drivers, with little or no driving skills – or at the least, no manners.

Perhaps someone would make like a 'pigspotter' website or twitter.

I think it is a great idea. Too many people are getting away with bad driving

Bad driving and Road rage...... Don't even kn ow which one is worst lately. I agree with Genevieve, what a great idea but who will be responsible? It like SA is sometimes just getting worst. My biggest fear is a Truck, I had driving anywhere near a truck. Most Truck drivers are Bad Drivers and half of them dont even have the "Report my driving at ...." at the back of a truck. Today you have to drive for your self as well for those around you.

I find the worst drivers are your drivers with expensive cars, they feel they own the road. A BMW driver, never says thank you if you let them in front of you. Yes our badly maintained cars are also a problem but more from a point of view of breaking down at inappropriate places. Again, driver's of expensive cars, have the decency to say thank you.

I have a application on my cell phone that I downloaded from 5fm's website. This application is like a game but you can report from accidents to bad driving and send a photo of what you report to the wesite/game.
But as Genevive said, who would follow up with this?

Its a good idea but it won't be of any help as no- one will follow the rules of the roads especially the taxi drivers.

You must be always on the look out if you are driving because anything can happen.

On the radio Lead SA did well with filling up the potholes. Maybe if someone could suggest this and then Lead SA could manage it.. It would be great.

I was listening 94.7 one morning and they said that Johannesburg is in 3rd place in the world for bad traffic, bad driving. So I think Michael that would be a great idea

I would have to agree that such a website would be extremelly succesfull in our country it is just such a pitty that no one cares enough to have such a system in place in this country.

Great idea, someone should take the initiative and start something similar to this.

I agree it would be a great idea, but I believe that nobody will be doing anything about it.

I totally agree, Website will work very well, with videos and comments!! I am actually enjoying to drive on the roads of South Africa, I think most of the drivers are polite and give you chance to go!! I will not say the same about Ukrainian roads, you should see how Italians are driving, when traffic time - they hoot, swear on each other!!!

I also agree, what a great idea. But then on the other hand, we have to be realistic. Who would be responsible to follow up etc? We cannot even deal with crime properly, we do not have housing, our education is going down hill and so forth. Also, you get some very paranoid people that will complain about everything and I do not want to receive a fine, when I was driving perfectly fine and safe. How would they establish who receives fines and what exactly would then be negligent driving?

If there was such a website, i think i would be offered membership due to being a regular user. Everyday, no matter where i go or what time it is, there is always an idiot that cuts me off.... It is clear that there is not a big enough gap between my car and the car in front of me, but some ignorant driver will swerve into the gap causing me to hit brakes and pray that the car behind me is alert enough not to hit the back of me.

I get extremely irritated on the road lately with these obnoxious drivers and really wish that they would extend the Gautrain to the area i live. It will eliminate a lot of stress and anxiety that one endures traveling to and from work in peak hour.

I think it's a great idea, although it would mostly be taxi's on the site.
