Shooting my new commercial

I have recently been shooting my new commercial, firstly in the Michael Knight Studios and then in my offices.  The shoot was over two days and the new advert, once it is finished being edited, should flight for the first time on Carte Blanche on 20 June.  I think it is my fourth or fifth advert and I certainly have become more comfortable with appearing in them, but it still takes quite a number of takes before you get a scene right and even when you get it right, then there is often a noise that happened behind you or a big truck that just drove past or a staff member looking the wrong way in the scene and you have to re-shoot it.  I am not a natural actor, so I do find it quite mentally tiring and like most men I seem to struggle to do two things at once.  So, taking three steps down my stairs and talking at the same time felt like an incredible challenge and I had to do that scene on numerous occasions!  I am certainly looking forward though to seeing the final version on television.

I think this is a awesome opportunity to do an advert for TV.
Not every firm is able to do that. But I think they would love to how ever.

It will definitely be exciting to see the advert air for the first time, especially in what I believe is at a time where many watch TV.

The one thing that people always say to me when I tell them where I work, is that they have heard the adverts on the radio or seen the advert on TV. This just goes to show how effective it must be.

Looking forward to seeing it as well, so far it looks very good. I think its very stressful to do the advert, but when you are a successful person like you. it is the least of your worries to stress while you doing the advert. Because you know at the end it will a hit!

I think it's awesome to see what goes into a advert. Most of my friends are in advertising, and I find it fascinating. Its interesting to hear about the thought behind particular adverts and which market of people they are targeted at, there is a lot of strategy that goes behind a single advert. I am excited to see the final result! I think it is good timing for a new advert especially with the new Pretoria office opening. Its like a fresh new look :)

Acting is not as easy as actors make it out to be. there is allot of hard work and preparation and then editing it just right. People have no idea how much though and effort goes into making ads, even a simple one you see on tv has many people working behind it. There are copywriters the design team, the editing team, the sound team. Months of work into that 30 second add

I would imagine that it requires a lot of work and repetition of scenes to shoot a commercial but at the same time, it must be extremely interesting to be a part of. Looking forward to watching the ad on the 20th.

A lot more than you think actually goes into shooting an advert than the average person would know about. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

I am also looking forward to seeing the final product. It is looking good so far. Acting is definitely not in my blood and think very highly of those doing acting because it cannot be easy.

I am also very excited, it is more difficult than it looks. I don't know how actors do it, it must be their talent. I also think the advert will do great for the firm business-wise.
