PGX

PGX is a highly concentrated form of fibre that is being used by many people to lose weight.  It has a number of benefits, according to the promoters, including the fact that it controls and balances blood sugar levels and lowers the glycaemic index of any meal for up to 50% and also promotes a feeling of being full and reduces your food craving.  It does not have any stimulants and essentially it is a powder that you mix with water which then turns it fairly mushy and you drink it followed by some more water just before you eat a meal.

It is becoming popular in America, due to its promotion in some diet books by Doctors, and the only way you can get it at the moment is via America because it is not for sale in any pharmacies in South Africa.  The blurb says that what PGX really does is to stop your blood sugar from going up and down and basically resets your appetite control so you will not have a desire to eat too much or to continually eat.  There is no doubt that we are going to read about it in South Africa eventually – whether it is in 6 months’ time or 2 years’ times.  Some of the doctors there are encouraging their patients to have it before meals and it is a part of many proper diets.  Once again, for those of you who keep feeling that it is fine to have a lot of carbohydrates, it leads to food cravings.

I believe it is important in detox to help escort mobilized toxins out of the body, such as mercury and lead mobilized by DMSO or DMSA. So, really important!

I believe one should have everything in moderation. More importantly - "A chocolate a day keeps depression away"

There are 3 industries that one should own shares in, nappies, food and diet products. These are a dime a dozen. What is really worrying is, with all these products on the market, obesity is still rife. Maybe they are over priced.

I think that these sort of things may work in the beginning, but in the long run, it slows down your metabolism and when you are much older, you have serious weight problems as your metabolism is in a coma from years of dieting abuse.

I don't believe in any of these powders because if it really worked then there would be 101 different types of meal replacer shakes. If only there was one that could help you instantly help you drop weight and not have any side effects or negative effects at all. I really don't obsess over weight or diets because I usually don't stick to it so it would make things worse.

hmm, I still believe everything in moderation then you don't need to follow the diet trends.

Perhaps it is the skeptic in me, but if something seems too good to be true, then it probably is. If being skinny was as easy as drinking something, than everyone would be skinny.

Also, one had to think of the long term impact of drinking something like this. Where are the long term studies to show that in the long run, this will be safe and effective.

also Hoodia is very good and you can get hoodia in SA. the problem with hoodia is that you must remind yourself to drink water because it not only takes away appetite,it also subdues any thirst and so you may get dehydrated. But otherwise it is totally safe as it is a powered cactus that bushmen used to chew on during time of hunger and drought.
or stuff yourself with cabbage salad or popcorn, that will take all appetite and give you feeling of a big meal.
