Favourite season – what is yours?

What is your favourite season?  I tend to try to find something in most seasons that I love and in Gauteng I would probably say I like the period around March/April the best.  One starts to see the beautiful colours of autumn, and you still have the warmth of summer.  It is a wonderful time to play golf, although sometimes there are so many leaves on the ground that it is hard to find your ball underneath them, even though you have not necessarily hit it in a bad place.  Winter has its own beauty and summer of course is magnificent.  I just don’t think that nature looks as beautiful in summer, when everything is the same bright green, and certainly if, for example, you love a place like the Kruger National Park or other nature reserves, then summer really is not the best season for that.  The bush gets much thicker, the vegetation grows more and you cannot see as many animals as you can in winter when a lot of the plants have shed their leaves, etc.

I really like summer the best you dont have to dress so warm and al the other seasons you don't really know how to dress in the mornings its cold and during the day hot. I want to dress once.

Summer. Less clothes means less washing :) Also people don't look as miserable unless its extremely boiling which summer can be unbearable sometimes too but you are more active in summer weather as you are able to swim, braai, tan, etc... I sometime's enjoy winter too but that's when its Saturdays and Sundays and that's the days that I can stay in bed all day:)

I love Summer. Its always nice to go out in summer time.I also like it when it rains but not always because you cannot go no where if it rains the whole day.

I love summer time. Not only do I like the warm weather and green trees but also that fact that it brings about a happier and more relaxed atmosphere( except of course in December on the 8th floor of the Pretoria High Court in the middle of summer).

I'm a Spring baby so that is still my favourite season =) I'd much rather try cool down than warm myself up (as we have to do in Winter).
Of course I like those 'lying in bed, watching movies under the blankets all day' kind of vibes as well but I'd still pick a hot summer's day than a cold winter one...

Funny enough when I used to live in Ukraine I used to hate winter and autumn times, but now staying in South Africa, I think I miss the most those times.
Snow, minus 20-25 C sounds freezing, but this is the most beautiful time of the year.

I am not a fan of summer or winter. Extreme conditions do not tickle my fancy. Spring and Autumn are always pleasant times of the year in their moderation. I particularly cannot wait for it to start cooling down a bit. Heat makes a long day that much longer !

Personally Spring is my favourite, not extremely hot and sticky but also not too cold that you dread going outdoors. The sun is warm on your skin but the wind is cool when it blows. You can walk in summer dresses during the day and sit snug indoors at night. The best of both leading to the holiday season of Summer whether you're in Joburg or not.

I used to love winter months but not anymore because of the darkness and the crime, spring and summer they do for me its like a new beginning of new things new life.

I will not be able to choose between the four seasons because in every season I like something, so I believe they are all equal to me. But I must say we experience all the seasons the best in South Africa, its more bearable here than other countries. Either ways people moan when it’s too hot, then they want it to be winter. Once its winter again they are getting to cold and wish it was summer.

My favourite season is Winter. I know this sounds crazy but, I find winter a cozy warm season because everyone is in doors spending time with their families and everyone snuggles up together, parents with each other and parents with their children. I also love this time because when you sit around the dinner table and the food is hot in the area, it tends to mist up the windows close by. It brings back very many happy feelings of my childhood.

I am a winter baby and love winter. I hate getting hot. I will rather dress warmer in winter than less in summer. And I agree with your blog, the best time to go to the Kruger National Park is definitely winter. To sit in the car the whole day on a hot sunny summer day is not time well spend in my opinion.

I absolutely love winter, while I know that is completely bizarre, I cannot handle hot weather and I would much rather be freezing than insanely uncomfortable in the blistering heat! I find that in Winter, one is at least able to put more clothes on to get warmer, but in summer, well you can't just wear nothing! For me, there is nothing more beautiful than the dry and dead leaves, crunching under your feet, as you walk along.

My favourite season is summer. It's warm, the sun's up at 5am and it stays light until about 7pm. You can get much more out of a day and it's much easier to motivate yourself in summer. There's nothing like lazing around in the sun on a summer weekend. There also isn't as much flu and sickness going around!

My favourite season is Winter. I love the cold. There's nothing better than sitting under a duvet a watch a nice movie with a nice cup of cappuccino.

It may seem abit cliché but summer is my favorite! There’s always so much to do and I am not a very happy person when I am cold!

My favourite season is definitely Summer. I love December and more specifically when on leave and at the seaside. It is also nice because the rain cools it down and you have the illusion of winter sometimes. Like today, rainy and overcast with a breeze. I agree with Patrick, I don't like winter - it is so difficult to get up and get going. I would be happy with a week of winter or a day or two here and there. We only appreciate a good season when it has come and gone. Like most things in life. As stated - each moment of the year has its own beauty.

Autumn would be my best - not too cold - not too hot. So March - May. I am not a fan of too hot nor cold - though I am a winter baby as well..love dressing warmly

I have to agree the best months in Gauteng are definitely March/April. We even planned our wedding around this time of year because the weather is the best.

Spring is my favourite season, it is beautiful and not too hot yet. I have to agree with Patrick on this one, I also struggle to get going in winter. I prefer warm weather, I’m not a winter person at all.

Spring is great because of the beauty that nature has to offer, but I personally prefer Winter. I don't enjoy excessive amounts of heat, there is nothing worst than being in a hot stuffy car. I do however enjoy summer when I'm on holiday and can swim all day then it's perfect!

The thing I enjoy the most about our summers are the lovely thunder storms after a very hot day. And then offcourse October, when the Jacarandas are in full bloom.

There is always something to marvel at during any particular season. Summer, for its long, warm sunny days, and spectacular rain storms. Autumn, for its magnificent colours (perfect for photographs). Winter, as a necessity to birth new life! And, Spring, for it's blossoms and blooms! Each alone, without the rest, wouldn't be as amazing. It is with each change that one may appreciate each season so much more.

I really enjoy Winter - I do not like the heat very much and I have experienced Winter in Europe - the snow fall is magnificent. The vegatation isn't as remarkable in Winter but the crisp, cool air is fantastic for sporting events!
