Being healthy and being cynical

I really enjoyed a recent article in the New York Times which basically went through a number of people who recently died and who had all been promoters of healthy living.  In many cases, they all stood for opposing principles (in favour of carbs, against carbs, in favour of eating more proteins in the form of meat, against eating meat etc) – and yet they all died pretty much at the same age.  That is not to belittle all the research in those areas, but it does remind you that for all the effort you make, if you get the wrong disease or you get unlucky with cancer, that will still be the end of you, regardless of what you eat or did not eat.  It is reminder that we should all aspire to healthy living, which obviously includes exercise, as well as healthy eating, but there is a limit to what we can do with what we are given and with our genetics.

I think its important to live healthy then you will also have more energy and be healthy but its so much work to live healthy and eat healthy it is a lot preparing your food.

I do think people should be living more of a healthy lifestyle however there are a lot of people that are mostly on the move so they don't really have time to make healthy meals or sit at a restaurant for a cooked meal they just get a quick take away and it definitely effects productivity and energy levels it basically just keeps them going

I say to live your life to the fullest - with also being aware of your health. Everything will take a toll as you get older and you will regret the decisions you make. With all of these different options to choose from on what to do and how to do it, makes your head spin and one cannot be too certain of what to do...but I suppose it best to choose an option that suits you

Stress can add to health problems and if you're stressing about what you're eating everyday, I think we'd be wasting our time blaming the food alone. I think a lot of food has been genetically modified and there is only so much control you as a consumer can have over purchasing health or non health foods - whether known or unknown modifications has occurred.

I heard something about there being something in vegetables or fruits that's also bad for you. So even the vegans and vegetarians are at risk. I feel like we should always be mindful of what we eat and how we live but we are going to die one day whether it is due to an accident, cancer, something we're eating or how we are living so why limit yourself if you are going to die anyway??

I am stuck between needing to eat healthy to look good and feel good and you only live once. It's really hard for me to say no to very unhealthy, fatty foods. Food makes me happy, but I do think that I have a balance. I will eat a lot of sugar and then get my days where I will almost starve myself and not eat anything, which is also not very healthy. But if its your time, its your time - It can be due to an accident or High cholesterol, which ever, but I don't think one needs to cut out everything or eat everything to get to an age of 100. Your life will go accordingly to plan.

Very sad not to see comments on this topic though.
I think if it is your time to go, it is time, unfortunately non of us know how we will go and when, so we can not get ready.
I always tell my kids try to respect and enjoy every moment of our life we have on earth and of course exercise, try to eat healthy and stay positive.
