When it comes to getting hot, America now holds the record. The Climate Agency of the United Nations recently threw out the previous record of a Libyan city as having the highest temperature ever recorded and has now allocated it to Death Valley in California.
The record temperature is 56,7°C and the temperature regularly goes over 45°. The New York Times quoted a Death Valley National Park ranger, Charlie Callaghan, as saying that when it gets really hot, “you don’t want to have jewellery on because you feel the burning on the ears. Your eyes, your eyebrows feel real hot”. Death Valley is also the lowest place in the United States with one part being approximately 90 metres below sea level.

Ah, let us use Death Valley as a deterrent for our "future criminals". If they want to do the crime, they must do the time - at Death Valley. Give them flower seeds and tell them until they get their flowers to grow, they cannot come home. We all know flowers need lots of water and bearable temperatures.......not gonna happen. This should scare them.

I remember it being 48 degrees in Bloemfontein once. I almost died! And I don't get hot easily.

When I went to places like Israel, Egypt and even Mauritius it would easily reach 40 odd degrees quite early in the day, which was already too hot for me. I don't even want to brave a place that reaches 50 plus degrees

I personally love summer and the sun but anything that is heatwave temperature is uncomfortable and terrible. You literally feel drained through out the day and dehydrated, I would never go to anywhere even close to this temperature.

I can not even begin to imagine how extremely hot that must be! If i look at the weather we have had in the last couple of weeks, it has been absolutely unbearable heat, making it almost impossible to have energy for anything! So i can just imagine how excruciating that intense heat must be, and i would in all honesty never survive it.

Wow it's no wonder why they call it death valley and we complain that S.A. is so hot.
