Kgoro Central – new development in the heart of Sandton

I was quite interested by the use of the parking lot at the back end of Nelson Mandela Square that is now becoming a development called Kgoro Central.  It is amazing that it has taken so long for a development to take place there, but maybe somebody was holding out for a top price.  It is going to be a 200,000m² mixed used development which is going to feature retail shops, offices as well as residential apartments and it really looks very interesting.  There is of course construction going up all over Sandton all of the time, and eventually you will need to not only have your office there but live on top of it, because you will not get out of it once you are there.

It is the kind of purchase I give thought to from time to time, because I feel that I missed out on moving to Melrose Arch at a time when I was negotiating to buy an office  unit there and my offices now don’t have enough space.  I would not need a large office in Sandton, but I do sometimes think that it could be of some benefit to have some of my staff there, particularly those who meet with advocates a lot.  On the other hand, my little war-horse at 127 Jan Smuts Avenue in Parkwood continues to produce profits, has paid for itself many times over and I probably don’t need the extra space, but I always keep my eye out for new developments. This particular one, its location and the whole mixed use concept really appeals to me.  The website is at www.kgorocentral.co.za.

Sandton is the place to be for business it is growing and growing. But I love our space here the traffic in Sandton is just too much for me to handle.

This development is really great actually. A nice investment to be at the centre of the business hub.
I had a look at the residential floor plans and they're actually pretty small for the price. That is what you pay for being in the centre of it all though.
I heard about all the construction going on in Sandton though. I'm even scared to go there. The traffic will most definitely multiply!

I drove through Sandton recently and I was absolutely shocked to see how many buildings have risen since I last traveled there. It really is a rapidly growing city and I think to have offices there will be quite an achievement.

Sandton is a top place and I also think one cannot go wrong to purchase there. I also think that would be a good idea for those who see Advocates a lot to already be there. One can only benefit from a bigger space or more space as the business is always growing. Traffic on the other hand is hectic everywhere, Joburg is a busy place - there is no getting around that.

My personal opinion, Sandton is becoming too much. Unless I really have no choice at all but to go there, I rather just stay away as it is ALWAYS busy, ALWAYS has traffic and just too much,

Sandton is top you will never go wrong shops, offices, high prices and traffic is another story but if you can afford it I will say go for it why not.

Sandton is beautiful and full of life. The problem with Sandton is that there is always so much traffic. Its always difficult to get out.

Traffic in Sandton is a nightmare. Its true if one wants to work there you should live there because its virtually impossible to get in and out there in peak hour traffic, especially now with all the construction going on. But I must agree what a great concept, cant wait for the finished result

Sandton area - this location is perfect for any business. I would say for the last 10 years Sandton has changed so much, people who immigrated would not recognize this suburb. But the TRAFFIC is terrible, would work the public transport or train to get in Sandton or out.

I don’t know Sandton that well, but I know the traffic is crazy. Every time I’m there it seems like a whole new place with all the new developments, if you have the money, I would say go for it, you can’t go wrong in Sandton.

Sandton is beautiful and full of life but I would never want to go work in that area. Traffic alone would be too much to handle daily.

Getting a prime location makes a huge difference in a companies' turnover and profit, I see it so often when one business is so busy in a main road on a prime location where everyone drives past it and knows its location and where there will be the same type of business around the corner that are not so busy just because no one knows it is there. Having the right location is one of the most important aspects of a business. Sandton is always growing and it has endless possibilities and opportunities.

It is true, it is all about location. Sandton is growing and growing and with the rate they going maybe one day you won't even be able to drive through Sandton. I am not a fan of Sandton, the traffic is horrible and you won't find me in Sandton unless I have to be there.

Location, Location, Location as they say, i come from Heidelberg and cant stand the city life, i hate sitting in traffic just to buy some bread, but you go where the money is, but new buildings are always stunning, but creates chaos around it and even more traffic

Everytime we go into Sandton for a consultation there seems to be a new developmens somewhere. And it's true that if you go into Sandton ot takes you twice as long to get out. Traffic is insane and there's never enough parking. I suppose doing business in Sandton will always be the right choice.

Nikita  said:

It is true - once you are in Sandton it is extremely difficult to get out. The constant construction really messes up traffic and makes it almost impossible to move around.

Imagine the traffic - my brother works in Sandton and just to avoid it, leaves around seven....It apparently starts from about half past three and I am positive that a drive that should take 10 min....would take far longer. Same as if in going to Fourways.....Parkwood is a good spot as far as I am concerned and you made a good choice. Easily accessible and in a way, in the midst of most things.....

It sounds like Kgoro Central is going to be the best place in Sandton. I think the residents of Kgoro Central will be enjoying not spending their time being in traffic driving around to get to shopping Centres and to get to work.

It looks amazing. I think it will be great to work there and to live there as well. It means no traffic in the mornings and afternoons and if you want to go somewhere just take the train. Everything you need is there. I think it will be a great investment. This place will definitely grow over the years and make lots of money.

I think it is highly convenient to be living in a place where there is everything you need. but if i am being honest I would never spend that amount of money on an apartment where yes there is everything you need but I'm sure a lot of noise at night. I would prefer living in a residential area with more room and freedom

Suzanne  said:

This is going to be amazing - and I see it is going to be adjacent to the Gautrain station, all the more reason to be there. I will definitely drive by when it's done.

It is financially a very good idea to begin a development where there are offices, living spaces and shops at one's disposal, especially in a prime spot such as Sandton. I'm sure those investing in Kgoro Central will find it to be a great investment.

You would definitely need a place to live there with all that traffic. I don't think I would like to work in Sandton but I understand it is "Business central". I clicked on the link and really looks amazing definitely with a steep price. Melrose Arch is also quite fancy and the offices and setup wouldn't have gone to waste had one invested - however Jan Smuts is equally as prime of a spot.

Mathilda  said:

I love Melrose Arch, you would be able to go to the shops during lunch,.The problem with Sandton is that there is always so much traffic, I don't think I would like to sit in that peak hour traffic everyday.

Jadine Richards  said:

Wow the Kgoro development looks absolutely stunning. To be able to have an office in such a place would be great. However, I can imagine it would be somewhat miserable to have leave everyday after work. Although in the same token, one may be inclined to put in a few more hours so as to miss the traffic.

Tamaryn  said:

I would think that would be an absolute gem of an investment. As those in the know say "location, location, location". Sandton in itself has become a global village, the business and leisure hub of South Africa. Who would not want business property in Africa's richest mile.

Bianca  said:

The plans look incredible for these places however I am sure that they cost a pretty penny. It would certainly make sense to have staff who do regular visits to Sandton based in Sandton and it would minimize petrol claims and all kind of traffic delays. Sandton already is absolutely remarkable and it is just continuing to grow into a beautiful city on it's own.

I find a mixed space development very appealing in terms of convenience. You have the luxury of eating at a restaurant right below where you live and then going to the shop for bread and milk just around the corner without having to drive anywhere. For me it is about saving time and security. The Menlyn Maine development here in Pretoria is stunning, it has everything from a gym, to a stunning Superspar, divine restaurants and even medical facilities. I have always wanted to live in a place where you can walk around your "neighbourhood" like we used to be able to and these mixed developments allow for that.

This is a very nice area with a very nice price I would love to win the Lotto and then by a place then rent it out well I live over seas this a dream.... But I also say its not where you live that should define you its your soul and heart that should.

Zindy  said:

Good investment I agree it is one of the most prestigious areas but wow the prices are hectic expensive. I saw on the net a two bedroom apartment In Melrose Arch starting from like ten million.

these sounds like a good investment if it were to go on. Sandton will get expensive more and more as more buildings are being demolished and new ones comes.
